Early on Friday, October 11, the day that the Jewish holy festival of Yom Kippur began, the messages—among which was a swastika—were discovered at Hendon Golf Club.
Staff at the club, located in the Barnet district, reported the messages and other property damage, according to the Met Police.
It further stated that a racially aggravated hate crime investigation was underway on the event.
“We understand the shock and distress that this incident has caused, especially coming at a time when Barnet is under the jurisdiction of the North West Command Unit,” stated Detective Chief Inspector Daniel Branch.
Work is being done to find and apprehend the person responsible for the event, which is being investigated as a racially aggravated hate crime.
“We visited the golf course to assist the club after the incident and spoke with local authorities to keep them informed about the investigation’s status.
