Following their “tiny and intimate” wedding in May 2021, the 30-year-old singer of Thank U, Next filed for divorce from 28-year-old Mr. Gomez six months ago, according to court documents.
She stated the reason for their breakup as irreconcilable disagreements.
A Los Angeles judge approved the divorce on Tuesday. As part of the agreement, Grande will give Mr. Gomez a one-time payment of $1.25 million (£980,000) and half of the proceeds from the sale of their LA house.
In addition, the Grammy-winning pop artist will cover up to $25,000 (£19,000) in legal expenses.
The couple started dating in 2020 and shared a quarantine during the COVID-19 pandemic. In the lockdown video for the artist’s collaboration with Justin Bieber, “Stuck With U,” Mr. Gomez also made an appearance alongside the singer. Grande posted several images of her home life with Mr. Gomez on her Instagram page in August 2021. In one photo, she was cooking, and in another, the two of them were cuddling in the kitchen.
