On Monday, in response to an Interpol request, Kurdish regional security forces in the Sulaymaniyah area detained Barzan Majeed, dubbed “The Scorpion.”
Majeed, who had previously lived in Nottingham, was wanted by the National Crime Agency after he was found guilty in absentia in Belgium in 2022 of human trafficking offenses following a joint UK-Belgian investigation.
According to the CIA, he made an effort to use trucks and small boats to sneak 100 people into the UK.
