At a National Association of Black Journalists meeting in Chicago, the audience gasped at the Republican nominee’s words.
“I’ve known her for a long time, but not directly,” he remarked. and she solely promoted Indian ancestry; she was always of Indian descent.
“I didn’t know she was black, until a number of years ago when she happened to turn black, and now she wants to be known as black, so I don’t know, is she Indian or is she black?” asked the man.
Ms. Harris is the child of immigrants to the US, an Indian mother and a Jamaican father.At a rally in Texas, Ms. Harris responded by calling the remarks “the same old show” and asserting that “America deserves better”.
To jeers from the audience, she remarked, “This afternoon, Donald Trump spoke at the National Association of Black Journalists’ annual meeting.”
The people of America ought to have a leader who is honest. a leader, she remarked, who does not, when faced with the truth, react angrily and hostilely.
