What’s at stake in this criminal case?
On Monday, September 16, Combs, 54, was taken into custody in a New York hotel on allegations of conspiring to commit racketeering and forcing sex trafficking.
In order to satisfy his sexual cravings, maintain his reputation, and hide his behavior, he allegedly “created a criminal enterprise” by abusing, threatening, and coercing women and those around him, according to federal prosecutors.
They said that Combs had “lured female victims” into prolonged sex activities known as “Freak Offs” by using drugs, violence, and the influence of his status.
They also disclosed that during raids on Combs’s houses in Miami and Los Angeles in March, they had discovered weapons, ammo, and over a thousand lubricant bottles.
