Following the confirmation of the 25th death from the massive, week-long outbreak, winds that have fueled flames in the US city of Los Angeles are predicted to pick up speed once more on Wednesday.
Another “extreme fire danger” area has been designated by forecasters, highlighting the high level of risk in an area northwest of the city center.
In certain mountainous regions, winds can exceed 70 mph (113 km/h), which, if sustained, would be close to hurricane force.
The remaining four fires, which firefighters have made more headway in battling over the past few days of calmer weather, are in danger of spreading because to the predicted increase in speeds.
Parts of Ventura and Los Angeles counties saw a gradual increase in wind speeds on Wednesday morning.
