The latest weather forecast from the Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD) is a breath of fresh air for the public, as rain is expected to fall this week in several areas of Punjab and the country’s higher regions. This will provide much-needed relief as the country continues to be scorched by extreme heatwaves.
The Office predicts that starting on May 28, showers will bring an end to the current heatwave that is making nearly the whole country feel oppressively hot.
With temperatures in many cities rising far above 40 °C, the majority of the country’s plains continue to experience harsh weather. On Monday, the PMD warned of the possibility of sporadic rainy spells in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Gilgit-Baltistan, and other Punjabi cities.
As rain is predicted in certain areas of Pakistan, the heatwave is set to end.
