The prime minister referred to Hamas’s strike as “the most appalling attack” and “the worst loss of Jewish life since the Second World War” in honor of the October 7 victims.
After Hamas militants broke through the border between Gaza and Israel, more than 1,100 people were killed. Of those taken as hostages, some 130 are still in detention.
It led to Israel’s continuous military campaign in the Gaza Strip, which, according to the territory’s Hamas-run health ministry, has killed over 33,000 Palestinians and forced the vast majority of the Palestinian people to flee their homes.
It follows the announcement that a Royal Navy ship will be sent to Gaza to assist in delivering more aid, and the statement made by Foreign Secretary Lord Cameron that “the prospect of famine is real.”
He continued, “We are still dedicated to providing aid to those who are in such need.”
We are constructing a new temporary dock off the shore of Gaza in collaboration with the US, Cyprus, and other allies in order to deliver relief as soon as safely and swiftly as feasible.
