ISLAMABAD The Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) has demanded justice for all party members as important negotiations between the government and the opposition continue in a “cordial environment.” The ruling party has ruled out using “executive powers” to free imprisoned former premier Imran Khan.
PTI Secretary-General Salman Akram Raja stated in an interview with a private news channel on Tuesday that “talks will only be successful when there is justice for everyone.”
He restated PTI demands that Imran and other “political prisoners” be freed and that a judicial panel be established to look into the events of May 9, 2023, and the crackdown on PTI demonstrators on November 26. “If these demands are not met…we will then devise a future course of action,” he stated.
