Sunday saw the arrival at Lahore airport of a jet bringing an additional 175 Pakistani students who were left stranded in Bishkek due to anti-foreign mob assaults.
Ataullah Tara, Minister of Information, met the students at the airport. Speaking with the media, the source stated that all preparations for the students’ return from the Kyrgyz capital have been finished at the airports in Islamabad and Lahore.
He stated that the Pakistani government was in communication with the Kyrgyz authorities over this matter and that the government will guarantee the safe return of all stranded Pakistani students to their homes.
According to Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar, up to 540 students who were left behind in Bishkek, Kyrgyzstan, due to mob violence, would be returning home on special planes later today.
