PARACHINAR: Due to the difficult situation in the conflict-affected area, the Tal-Parachinar road, one of the area’s main thoroughfares, was closed to all traffic for the 74th day in a row. This caused major disruptions in Kurram.
The ongoing closure of the Pak-Afghan Kharlachi border, which has stopped all trade, was also confirmed by the local authorities.
Daily living and commercial operations are still severely hampered by the protracted blockage, which has resulted in acute shortages of vital commodities in Parachinar, including as food items, medicines, gasoline, firewood, and LPG.
According to the deputy commissioner of Parachinar, tribal elders are participating in jirgas and conversations as part of ongoing efforts to find a solution.
