Beginning in 2028, the Reko Diq project, which is situated in the Chagai district of Balochistan, is expected to have a significant impact on Pakistan’s economy. The project is expected to generate 200,000 tons of copper and 250,000 ounces of gold yearly for more than 50 years, having finished its restructuring process in December 2022.
Saudi Arabia has just reaffirmed its standing internationally by offering to contribute 15% in the mining project. Although the project is initially scheduled to last 45 years, Mark Bristow, CEO of Barrick Gold Company, noted that it may go up to 100 years.
