The Sindh government on Sunday urged religious experts to assist in putting an end to the protest sit-ins by the religious-political party Majlis Wahdat-e-Muslimeen (MWM) that were still taking place in sections of Karachi due to deadly tensions in Parachinar.
“[A] jirga has decided on the Kurram issue […] now the protest sit-ins in Karachi should end,” Sindh government spokesperson Sadia Javed said earlier this evening in a statement that was shown on television.
For many residents, traveling has turned into a nightmare due to traffic jams at several locations, forcing commuters to take detours, which worsens the situation on other thoroughfares.
