The family of Muhammad Hamas, a national and Asian Taekwondo champion, has filed a kidnapping case with the Nawab Town police station in Lahore after he went missing for a week.
Muhammad Zareef, the father of Hamas, revealed that his son had received a call from an unidentified individual. Following the call, Hamas proceeded to his university’s gate number two, where he was allegedly abducted by multiple people in a white vehicle.
Zareef has requested that the police move quickly to find his son and ease the family’s suffering.
Hamas, a citizen of Dera Ismail Khan in Dinpur, has a lengthy history of accomplishments in Taekwondo, having taken home numerous junior and senior national titles.
Most recently, on November 2, 2023, Hamas defeated fellow Pakistani opponent Salman Khan in the final to win the gold medal in the 48kg class at the Comebacks Asian Open International Taekwondo Championship.
The family is pleading with the authorities to look into the matter in great detail and make sure Hamas returns safely.
