Khawaja Asif, the minister of defense, told reporters Thursday that Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Ali Amin Gandapur and the establishment were in contact as the government stepped up security in Islamabad in anticipation of the demonstration by the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf.
Gandapur has been in communication with the federal government since day one. He vanishes from the rally and then reappears out of nowhere, which demonstrates that Gandapur has connections that the PTI founder supports,” he told reporters at Parliament House in Islamabad.
Imran Khan, the imprisoned former prime minister, has called on his supporters to march on November 24 towards Islamabad in support of the “restoration” of the judiciary and democracy.
Leaders of the ruling coalition have blasted the PTI for using these protests to stir up trouble in the nation.
