Cynthia Erivo has clarified the rumors of her engagement.
At the 2025 Grammys, the Wicked actress fuelled rumors that she was engaged to her longtime companion, writer, and director Lena Waithe.
Rumors that Cynthia might be engaged to her lover, whom she began dating in 2020 before becoming public in 2022, were stoked when she was seen sporting a big sparkler on her ring finger.
A source close to Cynthia, however, has denied the rumors, telling PEOPLE magazine that the ring was only a piece of jewelry and not an engagement ring.
The source continued by saying that the actress and singer’s exquisite manicure allowed her to wear just specific rings, and the majority of her accessories during the event were “loaned.”
