GILGIT: For threatening security services, a former Gilgit-Baltistan chief minister and Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) leader was sentenced to 34 years in prison by an anti-terrorism court (ATC) on Tuesday.
In addition to the sentence, the court ordered the former chief minister to be arrested and taken to the jail and fined him Rs 600,000.
Additionally, the ATC directed the director general of the National Database and Registration Authority (Nadra) to block the politician’s computerized national identity card (CNIC).
On May 26, 2024, Khurshid was charged with threatening to seriously harm the chief election commissioner, GB’s chief secretary, and security agencies during a PTI power display.
