The Counter Terrorism Department (CTD) described the October 6 blast, which killed six Chinese engineers and targeted their convoy in Karachi, as “a conspiracy to undermine Pakistan-China relations” one week later.
Two Chinese nationals were among the three fatalities when a suicide bomber crashed his explosives-laden car into the convoy of Chinese engineers on October 6. Sixteen people were injured, including another Chinese national. Over fifteen automobiles sustained major damage as a result of the attack.
The Majeed Brigade of the outlawed Balochistan Liberation Army (BLA) took credit for the attack on social media.
According to a copy of the CTD’s initial report that was given to the anti-terrorism courts’ administrative judge, the bombing was made possible.
