ISLAMABAD: Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Inspector General (IG) of Police Akhtar Hayat and Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) Director General (DG) Ahmed Ishaque Jehangir have been relieved of their positions.
DG FIA Ahmed Jahangir was relieved by the federal government and placed in the Establishment Division as an Officer on Special Duty (OSD).
According to sources, he was fired because he and other relevant authorities, including a number of FIA officials, were unable to prevent the human trafficking incidents.
“Mr. Ahmad Ishaque Jehangir, a BS-21 Officer of [the] Police Service of Pakistan, currently serving as Director General, Federal Investigation Agency (FIA), under [the] Interior Division, is transferred and posted as Officer on Special Duty (OSD) in Establishment Division, with immediate effect and until further notice, with the approval of the Federal Government.”
