The district administration of Kurram district announced the creation of temporary displaced person (TDP) camps in unrest-plagued Lower Kurram, with “law enforcement agencies (LEAs) planning to launch counter-terrorism operation” following the terrorists’ ambush of a supply convoy headed for Parachinar the day before.
The office of the Deputy Commissioner Kurram announced in a notification on Friday that the LEAs intended to begin operations in a number of Lower Kurram locations.
“In order to ensure safety and support of the affected population during the expected operation, following sites are proposed for establishment of camps for the TDPs of District Kurram,” the notice added.
The camps would be set up at the judicial building, the Government Boys Degree College, Tal, the Government Technical College, and the Rscue 1122 property.
