ISLAMABAD According to a PTI source, Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) has been instructed by Chief Justice of Pakistan (CJP) Yahya Afridi to stay in the system and refrain from boycotts.
The top judge said that PTI shouldn’t have skipped the Supreme Judicial Commission’s (SJC) most recent meeting, which was held to discuss judicial appointments to the Supreme Court, according to the source, who was a member of the group that met with the chief justice on Friday.
The delegation was told that some of the appointments might have been different if PTI members had been present at the meeting.
PTI Chairman Barrister Gohar Ali Khan said when contacted that the chief justice did, in fact, counsel the party to remain in the system and refrain from abstaining from the judicial appointment process.
