Prominent member of the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI), Hammad Azhar, has resigned from his position as president of the party’s Punjab chapter. He cited limitations on his movement and lack of access to Imran Khan as the reasons for his resignation.
The politician, who was also a federal minister during the PTI government, is still at large and is being investigated in multiple crimes connected to the chaos of May 9. As a result, he is afraid of being arrested.
Sadly, Imran Khan is not available to me. Since my movement is severely restricted and I am unable to travel to Adiala [prison], I did not hold a press conference or make any deals,” Azhar stated on X.
Among the many complaints made by Imran Khan’s supporters was that he wasn’t consulted when choices were made.
