LAHORE: Aqib Javed, the recently hired head coach of Pakistan’s white-ball cricket team, discussed the inclusion and role of star batsman Babar Azam in the Twenty20 International squad.
The former skipper, who has been struggling in all game types, also had a poor performance in the most recent three-match T20I series against Australia, scoring just 47 runs at a pitiful average of 15.66 and strike-rate of 142.42.
During his media appearance in Lahore on Wednesday, Aqib was questioned about Babar’s potential inclusion in the T20Is.
“Senior athletes with value include Babar and Rizwan. They have performed for Pakistan over the years,” he remarked.
