A start-up beauty business in India is receiving criticism for attempting to draw attention to workplace stress through a marketing campaign.
According to the BBC, a few days ago, an email from the start-up “Yes Madam” went viral on social media, telling “stressed” workers that the company had chosen to fire those who had complained about feeling overwhelmed at work.
On Tuesday, the business stated that the social media posts were part of an attempt to raise awareness of the “serious issue of workplace stress” and that it had not dismissed anyone.
While some applauded the advertisement for bringing attention to a significant workplace issue, others criticized it for playing with the emotions of already stressed-out employees.
