During a vote recount at four polling places in National Assembly constituency NA-231, there was a serious outbreak of violence.
Mobs full of rage destroyed the Election Commission’s headquarters, and those wearing masks burned ballot bags before running away.
The incident started when two opposing parties’ supporters got into a heated argument and started yelling during the recount. Following the rioting, police and rangers were called in after the Election Commission office was vandalized. After that, police officers broke inside the Election Commission headquarters.
Before from the area, masked people stormed the Regional Election Commission building and set ballot bags on fire.
A witness statement surfaced after the assault. A clerk named Zubair stated that he was in the Election Commission office when masked persons invaded the facility, overturning things and causing severe damage.
