President Asif Ali Zardari emphasized the need to win the “war against terrorism” decisively at all costs during a visit to Quetta on Wednesday, amid rising security difficulties in Balochistan.
The visit coincides with an increase in terrorism in Balochistan and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa. The president emphasized the danger posed by terrorists looking to split the country while presiding over a conference on the state of law and order in Balochistan.
Chief Secretary Shakeel Qadir Khan, Inspector General of Police Moazzam Jah Ansari, Acting Governor of Balochistan Captain (retd) Abdul Khaliq Achakzai, Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) Chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari, and other high-ranking officials attended the meeting.
