Omar Ayub, the leader of the Opposition in the National Assembly, has described the people of Balochistan as “more patriotic” than the rest of the country, amidst the political unrest that has followed the terror attacks of August 26 and the resignation of seasoned legislator Sardar Akhtar Mengal.
The secretary-general of the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI), Ayub, insisted on taking Mengal’s resignation seriously and called for the province’s stakeholders’ issues to be addressed during a session on the floor of the lower house of parliament on Wednesday.
The politician demanded that a committee be formed that could hold discussions with the people of Balochistan. “A fact-finding mission should go to Balochistan and assess the situation,” the politician added.
