QUETTA: Deputy Commissioner Hazrat Wali Kakar stated that at least 11 laborers were murdered and six others were injured in a devastating explosion that occurred in the Shahrag region of Harnai on Friday.
The fatal explosion that occurred close to a car transporting coal miners first claimed the lives of nine laborers and injured six more. Two of the wounded miners later passed away from their injuries. Hazrat Wali Kakar, the deputy commissioner for Harnai, verified the deaths.
According to the local officials, the road was planted with explosives, maybe an improvised explosive device.
The bodies and injured were moved to medical facilities, and the area was blocked off by security personnel. According to reports, some of the injured laborers are in critical condition. Plans are on to relocate the injured to Quetta.
