Ryan Gosling and Emily Blunt reunited on stage at the Oscars to offer an homage to stunt performers, but their conversation turned hilariously ‘frosty’.
At the 96th Academy Awards, Gosling and Blunt approached the stage to pay respect to the industry’s stunt performers, with Gosling greeting Blunt with a severe ‘Hello’ that Blunt criticized for its ‘frosty’ tone.
The couple couldn’t help but joke about their flicks, Barbie and Oppenheimer’s box office war, and Gosling said, “I’m just happy that we can finally put this Barbenheimer rivalry behind us”
Blunt responded, “That’s right, here’s Ken and Kitty – and the way this awards season has turned out, it wasn’t that much of a rivalry, so, just let it go,” which elicited laughter from the audience.
Admitting Oppenheimer’s success, Gosling said, “I think I’ve figured out why they called it Barbenheimer and not Oppenbarbie.”
“I think you guys are at the tail end of it because you were riding Barbie’s coattails all summer.”
