In light of his current mental state, Chief Justice Aamer Farooq of the Islamabad High Court (IHC) ordered the police on Monday to conduct a comprehensive inquiry into the kidnapping of Intezar Panjutha, a lawyer for Imran Khan, the founder of the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI), after a few days.
Days after going missing from the federal capital, Panjutha was discovered in agony and trussed-up in a car in Attock on Saturday night. After a fierce gunfight, the police apprehended the suspected kidnappers and they escaped, leaving their car with the lawyer inside.
For a follow-up session on Panjutha’s disappearance and recovery, lawyer Ali Bukhari and the Additional Attorney General for Pakistan (AAGP) made an appearance before the IHC.
