Due to increased security concerns after a recent tragic explosion in the vicinity, Jinnah International Airport in Karachi has been designated as a red zone. Strict access limits have been put in place by authorities to guarantee passenger safety.
The airport’s red zone will only be accessible to those who are permitted and have appropriate identity and airline tickets.
This includes people who are there to drop off or pick up passengers, as well as employees of the airport and people on official business.
Five more police checkpoints have been set up outside the airport perimeter to increase security, and they are manned by policemen 24/7.
In order to stop any suspicious activity, these checkpoints will thoroughly inspect people and cars.
It is recommended that travelers arrive well in advance of their scheduled flights.
