BEIJING: In its second wave of actions against American companies in less than a week, China sanctioned ten US defense companies on Thursday for selling weapons to Taiwan.
China’s Ministry of Commerce said on Thursday that its “Unreliable Entities List” now includes Lockheed Martin, General Dynamics, and Raytheon subsidiaries that “participated in selling arms to Taiwan.”
According to the ministry, its senior managers will not be allowed to enter China, and they will not be allowed to engage in import and export operations or make new investments there.
China imposed penalties on seven US military-industrial firms last Friday, including Insitu, a Boeing subsidiary, for providing military support to Taiwan.
One of the main points of dispute between Beijing and Washington is the self-governing island.
