Shortly before being arrested by Florida police last week, a guy allegedly swallowed stolen earrings worth over half a million dollars.
The Orlando police have charged Jaythan Gilder, 32, of deceiving Tiffany & Co. staff members by claiming to be representing a professional athlete, following which the staff members displayed “several high-value pieces” to him.
Gilder then allegedly fled the store after stealing the earrings from the staff.
The accused thief was observed “swallowing several objects believed to be the stolen earrings” by police officers when they eventually caught up with him later that day.
Additionally, he allegedly attempted to steal two pairs of earrings valued at $769,500 (£597,000).
