Sterling K. Brown received a nomination this year for the Oscars’ Best Supporting Actor category. He is certain that he won’t hoist the gong, though. Rather, he thought it would be Robert Downey Jr., his fellow contender, and he said he was just fine with it.
While making an appearance on The Graham Norton Show, the American Fiction actress said, “There’s no losing yet—it’ll happen in its own due time.”
“I know that I’m not going to win,” he said, adding, “Colman [Domingo] will probably win.”
The 47-year-old stated he is happy to join the elite group of nominees and suggested another person who, in his opinion, is likely to win, even if he is confident that his chances are also good.
“Robert Downey Jr. is going to win, and he’s incredibly deserving,” he said. “He’s a fantastic actor. You ought to be kind to him.”
stating, “And the fact that I get a chance to be nominated along with him and Mr. [Robert] De Niro and Ryan Gosling and [Mark] Ruffalo, I’m just happy to be in the room.”
