Law enforcement is enforcing a “virtual siege” of Rawalpindi ahead of the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf’s (PTI) planned rally on November 24.
To keep PTI supporters out of the federal capital, the city would be blocked off at 50 points.
More than 30 people have already been arrested as a result of authorities’ crackdown on PTI leaders and supporters.
To keep everything under control and stop any protests, police will set up shipping containers, barbed wire, and razor wire at strategic locations. Other security guards, including Elite Force commandos, will also be on call.
Although police officials have stated that they would rather not use rubber bullets and water cannons, they are ready for any altercation, particularly in the Attock district, where tensions are likely to be high.
