Islamabad’s envoy to Beijing stated on Wednesday that talks between China and Pakistan over security measures to safeguard Chinese nationals employed in the South Asian nation are still ongoing.
Ambassador Khalil Hashmi told reporters on the fringes of the Boao Forum in China’s Hainan province that Pakistan is “doing everything possible” and that it is its “national responsibility.”
According to him, “I think our two countries work very closely in terms of information sharing, in terms of developing the standard operating procedures” to guarantee the safety of Chinese people employed in Pakistan.
“We keep our Chinese friends informed of the steps that we are taking, so it’s a work in progress.”
