Pakistan gained a welcome assurance this week as China offered to aid the South Asian nation in managing its foreign debt issues.
According to Bloomberg, Chinese Consul General Zhao Shiren’s recent statement emphasized China’s commitment to aiding Pakistan.
Shiren underscored China’s long-standing connection with Pakistan, adding that they have never demanded repayment and have just given a $2 billion loan to help Pakistan’s financial situation.
This echoes comments made by the Chinese Ambassador, who acknowledged Pakistan’s economic difficulties and vowed China’s “all possible support” to help them overcome them.
The envoy assured Pakistan of China’s continuing cooperation, stating that Beijing will provide all necessary assistance to help Pakistan overcome its debt issues and achieve financial stability.
He emphasized China’s cooperation in increasing Pakistan’s exports to Saudi Arabia.China and the United Arab Emirates have recently approved the import of red chile and beef from Pakistan. Zhao also noted China’s transfer of technology for hybrid rice cultivation and corporate farming, which prompted Pakistan to resolve its trade deficit.
