Despite doubts over the Chief Justice’s appointment, Bilawal Bhutto Zardari, the chairman of the Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP), asserted that his party had passed the 26th Constitutional Amendment.
The former foreign minister said in a BBC interview that the change, which cleared the path for the nomination of a new Chief Justice, was a noteworthy accomplishment finished prior to October 25.
Bhutto Zardari underlined that a different Chief Justice would not have been able to pass the legislation. He asserted that attempts were made to defame Chief Justice Qazi Faez Isa and that he was not informed that Justice Mansoor Ali Shah would not be named Chief Justice.
He stated the government’s plan to link the change to the attacks on military posts on May 9.
