As election enthusiasm reaches fever pitch, Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) Chairman Bilawal Bhutto-Zardari declared on Monday that the crisis-ridden nation could be transformed with just one election—not four.
During a power show in Sahiwal, the PPP chairman, who is running for prime minister, made a subtle jab at Nawaz Sharif, the leader of the Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N), who is seeking a fourth term in office after receiving legal respite.
“I want one chance, not four,” Bilawal declared as she addressed the crowd. I promise to turn the nation’s course and find solutions to all of its issues if you give me the chance.
The PPP leader asserted that his party was the only way to address the rapidly rising rates of unemployment, inflation, and poverty.
Bilawal stated, “Pakistan is going through a default time,” and mentioned the “division” in the country’s society.
The former foreign minister issued a warning, stating that enemy forces might utilize the “division” to carry out their evil plans. “I am running for office in order to put an end to the politics of division and hatred.”
Bilawal recalled his mother, Benazir Bhutto, the first female prime minister of Pakistan, who was killed on December 27, 2007, in Rawalpindi, Pakistan, in a suicide bombing and gun attack. He remarked, “Today, bibi shaheed’s philosophy is needed more than it has ever been in the past.”
