Finally, Ariana Grande has shared her thoughts on how she responds to society’s ideals of beauty.
The singer and actress, who has been the target of months of trolling because of her thin figure, broke down in tears as she spoke about the “overwhelming” pressure women face to “always look perfect.”
“I’ve heard it all because I’ve been kind of doing this (being in showbusiness) in front of the public and kind of being a specimen in a petri dish since I was sixteen or seventeen,” Ariana remarked.
“Every explanation for what’s wrong with me has been given to me. After you make the necessary corrections, it becomes incorrect for various reasons,” she added. “But you know, that’s everything from even the most basic thing—your appearance.”
