After seeking treatment for an intracranial hemorrhage this week, Brazilian President Luiz Inacio Lula da Silva had a second surgery, according to his medical team.
During a press briefing on Thursday, Roberto Kalil, Lula’s personal physician, declared the follow-up procedure to stop blood flow to the damaged area a “success.”
Earlier this week, the president was taken from Brasilia to the hospital after suffering from headaches that his physicians attributed to a recent fall.
Following a fall at home in late October that injured the back of his skull, Lula, who was sworn in as president in early 2023, had reduced his travel in recent months.
