The audience laughed as actress Brie Larson, who plays Captain Marvel, made light of the host’s way of preparing scrambled eggs during a funny banter.
On February 6, 2024, 34-year-old Larson disclosed her preparation process for the television series Lesson in Chemistry, in which she plays Elizabeth Zott, a chemist who launches her own feminist culinary program and imparts knowledge to housewives beyond simple recipe books.
In reference to her persona, Kimmel shared his inquisitiveness regarding the optimal method for preparing scrambled eggs and shared his recipe: “I’ll crack the eggs, add milk, salt, and blend it; it needs to sit for at least 20 minutes before I add it to the pan with the butter.” After that, I hardly move it in the frying pan at all—I don’t touch it.
Larson paused, taken aback by this discovery, before continuing, “Oh…um…that sounds nice? I’m not sure if we are in a bit, even if I assumed we were.”
“I’ll just say that I don’t do my eggs that way, but I do care a lot,” she continued.
“He’s really just speaking from his heart,” she screamed, acknowledging that she had assumed it was staged.
She said, “I will, I will— maybe not in the ways you want me to, but I will,” in response to the host’s request that she “think about my eggs method” before the broadcast ended.
