Paris 2024 chief executive Ettiene Thobois told BBC Sport, “I don’t know if it’s the expectation of a great Team GB performance, but [we] are very excited to welcome you.”
“Everyone still remembers London 2012,” Thobois continued.
“It was an inspiring Games for us, too.”
Amidst worries for safety, Thobois also promised “unprecedented” security measures.
He declared, “We are definitely on high alert.” “Hosting the Olympics and Paralympics raises the bar, but we’ll be ready for the challenge.”

The cost of tickets
The president of World Athletics, Lord Sebastian Coe, who chaired the organizing committee for London 2012, expressed concern last month that the external ticket prices for Paris 2024 might be too high. He noted that some of the prices were the highest ever seen at an Olympics and that having full stadiums was crucial.
Despite the fact that over a million football tournament tickets are still unsold, Thobois supported the hosts’ strategy.
“We’ve already sold 90% of the tickets so we’re comfortable in the fact that we actually priced it right,” he stated.
Over a million tickets at a cost of 24 euros have been sold. Over four million tickets cost no more than 50 euros.
“Well, it’s been an incredible success, and we’re almost sold out. Lord Coe loves athletics, therefore there will be a full stadium.”
Team GB anticipates a “memorable” Paris 2024.
