Britney Spears says she will ‘never return to music industry’, ending new album rumours

Rumors that Britney Spears is recording a new album have been refuted by her declaration that she will “never return to the music industry”. The 42-year-old pop sensation was answering rumors circulating in the US that she was looking for composers to collaborate on new music with, among others, vocalists Julia Michaels and Charli XCX.Spears stated in an Instagram post: “Just to be clear, the majority of the news is garbage!!!” “They keep saying I’m turning to random people to do a new album… I will never return to the music industry!!!”She continued by saying that she now only composes music “for fun” or for other musicians. The celebrity disclosed that throughout the previous 24 months, she had composed around 20 songs for other people.
