Brown, who won a bronze medal at the Tokyo Games three years ago, sustained the injury on Monday, the day before her trip to Paris.
The 16-year-old has now been examined by Team medics and physiotherapists, who have determined she is fit to compete in Paris.
“This one was really scary,” Brown explained. “My shoulder was out, and I couldn’t pull it back in. My father placed it in for me.
“When I get back, I’ll have to get surgery so it doesn’t come out again. They’re delivering some braces tomorrow, and I’ll try them out and have to be strapped in every time .
My message would be that what doesn’t kill you makes you stronger, no matter how cringey it sounds.
Brown is scheduled to compete for a medal in the women’s park skateboarding event on Tuesday, August 6, at La Concorde.
The British snowboarder has had a rocky lead-up to the Games, including injuring the medial collateral ligament in her right knee in April.
But she will now compete in the sport in which she placed third at the last Tokyo Olympics, winning the United Kingdom’s first skateboarding medal at the Games.
