Qamar Javed Bajwa, a retired general and former army chief, called the accusations made against Saudi Arabia by Bushra Bibi, the wife of Imran Khan, the founder of the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI), “baseless” on Friday.
“National interests should not be harmed to gain political mileage by making baseless allegations,” the former head of the army stated in an interview with News.
In a rare video message released the day before the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf’s (PTI) “do-or-die” rally, Bushra Bibi accused Saudi Arabia of helping to overthrow her husband’s government.
She claimed that the then-army leader Gen (retd) began receiving “their calls” after the former prime minister traveled to Madina “barefoot,” suggesting that Saudi officials were involved in his removal.
According to the former first lady, Bajwa was questioned, “Who is this?
