KOHLU: On Wednesday, during the re-polling process across four polling stations in the Balochistan district’s PB-9 seat, days after the recently held by-elections, there were explosions from landmines and the firing of rockets.
The district commissioner stated that the attacks stopped the voting process at the affected polling station in Nasao since staff was unable to get there because of the law and order situation and safety concerns.
The rocket was shot from an unidentified direction close to a polling place in the Nasao neighborhood of the district, according to the Levies sources, although no casualties were reported after the strikes.
Prior to the re-election process, a landmine explosion occurred early this morning on Nasao Road in the Barkhan neighborhood of Sangyali. Raba Nawaz, a tribal leader, struck a landmine with his car during the attack.
His car sustained significant damage, but he was unharmed in the blast.
Today’s re-poll in the district was slated to run from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m.
A political party employee perished in a firing incident at an electoral site on Tuesday, according to the DC. He also mentioned that the bomb disposal squad from Levies and the Frontier Corps were nearby.
