Chinese automaker BYD has disclosed plans to rollout advanced self-driving technology on nearly all its cars, including inexpensive ones priced around $10,000.
The business also claimed it would integrate AI startup Deepseek’s software into its automobiles, following domestic counterparts such as Geely, Great Wall Motors, and Leapmotor.
Analysts speculated that a new pricing war would be imminent after BYD, Tesla’s largest rival in China and increasingly overseas, made its announcement Monday night.
At least 21 models of BYD’s “God’s Eye” autonomous driving system will be available, including the low-cost Seagull hatchback, which retails for ¥69,800 ($9,550).
Features like autonomous highway navigation and remote parking that were previously only available on more costly cars are now part of the system.
