Caitlin Clark’s senior day could not have gone better as the Iowa Hawkeyes defeated Ohio State 93-83 to set the Division I college basketball all-time points record. As the first half of the game was coming to a close, Clark made two free throws to break Pete Maravich’s old record of 3,617 points from his time at LSU. She needed eighteen points going into the game, and she scored every one of them in the first half after the free throws awarded for a technical foul. Clark had a career-high 35 points, nine assists, and six rebounds in her last home game of the regular season.
Following the historic performance, Clark received recognition for her years of dedication together with her other senior Hawkeyes colleagues Gabbie Marshall, Sharon Goodman, Molly Davis, and Kate Martin.
“Looking back at my four years, I feel like I’m just really appreciative,” Clark responded to the audience when asked about her journey thus far.
