A teenage passenger on an Air Canada aircraft from Toronto to Calgary is alleged by the RCMP to have assaulted a family member, leading to the plane’s unplanned landing in Winnipeg on Wednesday afternoon. According to a news release from the Manitoba RCMP, Air Canada Flight 137 landed at Richardson International Airport in Winnipeg at approximately 12:20 p.m. Authorities claim that a 16-year-old passenger from Grande Prairie, Alberta, assaulted a man who was identified as a family member. After the attack, passengers and airline staff reportedly restrained the young person, according to authorities. According to the RCMP, the 16-year-old was detained and sent to the hospital for a medical examination. No other passengers on the airplane needed medical attention, and the victim was treated for minor bodily injuries.
